100年前の蒸気トラクター、25馬力で自重9トン！・・・「撮りトラ＠土の館」

今日は「撮りトラ」。スガノ農機「土の館」で見た100年前の巨大な蒸気トラクターです。

100年前の蒸気トラクタ 1902年（明治35）ジョージホワイト＆サン社製・カナダ 25馬力　自重9トン　燃料は石炭、薪 価格：2650カナダドル・・・当時の小型飛行機が買える値段。 マクブライド農場（3,000ha）で30年間使用。のちにアーニーが観賞用に所有し、1973年ワトソン兄弟が完全復元。1996年三谷耕一牧場（北海道由仁町）取得していたものを、2001年、土の館に寄贈された。
ちょうど専有面積はキャタピラー社のチャレンジャーくらいあるでしょうか・・・ボリュームはそれほどありませんけど。エンジンにあたる部分がハシゴの上に見える筒とはずみ車ということになるでしょうか・・・

タイヤはこのように靴底みたいなものをリベットで留めただけですから、少しクッション性のあるフラットバーのスポークを採用したのかもしれませんね。

運転席・・・でしょうね。座るところがありません。座る所どころか足の踏み場もありません。（座ってちゃ前が見えないですけど）ハンドルは右手の赤いヤツかな？

圧力計かなあ・・・これがトラクターメーターにあたるわけですね。拡大してみたんですけど、不鮮明でメーカーはよくわかりませんでした。

大きなパネルと同じようなことが書いてあるのですが、英文の説明の最後 Tuchi No Kanと書いてあります。もしかして「土の館」って「つちのかん」と読むの？　ずっと「つちのやかた」と読んでしました。それとも何かの間違い？？？

あれー？もしかしてチェーンは振れ止めじゃなくて、これでステアリングを切っているのかも・・・この軸が回転すると、下のチェーンは繰り出されて上のチェーンは巻き取られる・・・それが前の車軸の両端につながっています。
